It includes everything you need to safely send us your loved one’s ashes or hair, ensuring a smooth and respectful process.
After receiving the ashes, we carefully examine and purify the carbon. This involves separating it from the other elements present. Although cremation burns off most of the carbon, we can still extract the remaining amount. As there’s only a small amount of carbon in ashes (1-5%), the purification process can take time. The extracted carbon is then used to create your memorial diamonds.
We recreate the natural diamond growing environment. Our machines are able to simulate the environment that produces diamonds (900 degrees °C and 60 kilobars) and successfully turn ashes into diamonds. It works by combining carbon with a tiny diamond seed. As the carbon processes, it crystallizes and grows atop the tiny diamond with the carbon from your loved one’s ashes. Just like every person is different, so is their carbon and diamond.
Our scientists know the importance of the process. Therefore, it can take some while to find the correct formula for heat and pressure for each cremation diamond. We have the whole process, from start to finish, captured on video so you can see how much dedication goes into turning ashes into diamonds.
After transforming the ashes into diamonds, we meticulously inspect each one for imperfections. This crucial step ensures that we can achieve the flawless cut you desire, with no visible flaws in the final design. We dedicate time and precision to guarantee your memorial diamond is perfect. Once the quality is confirmed, the diamond is passed to our seasoned cutters. With decades of expertise, they are committed to achieving the most brilliant cut, enhancing the diamond’s quality and brilliance every time.
When we transform ashes into diamonds, we create authentic, certified diamonds. Once the process is complete, independent gemologists verify that the diamond is 100% genuine, assessing clarity, colour, and checking for any flaws in the cut. They can also engrave a personalised message on your diamond with a microscopic laser if desired.
You may opt to have your cremation diamond coloured. Our colouring process allows your memorial diamond to be transformed into shades of green, red, or pink, adding a personal touch to the keepsake.
Finally, the very last step in turning ashes into diamonds is setting the diamond. We are happy to help you create the best handmade setting, unless you already have one. However, we also have a team of expert jewelers who can create a custom setting for your loved one’s cremation diamond.
